some other “finish”, is widely used in determination of the total gold content of heavy-mineral concentrates. Direct instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) of the concenrate, which has the advantage of being a nondestructive multi-element technique, is also used. The objective of this study was to compare gold results obtained by the two methods on typical heavy mineral concentrates from streams in southern British Columbia.
